Carter Yeisley returns, Evan Munn joins the Ivy sideline for 2025
RICHMOND, Va., (Wednesday, March 5, 2025) — The Richmond Ivy are pleased to announce the full coaching staff for the 2025 season.
“We are thrilled to be bringing back Carter Yeisley as the assistant coach of the Richmond Ivy and to be adding Evan Munn as our Goalkeeping Coach,” Sporting Director Madeline McCracken said. “Carter is a phenomenal relationship builder with a great soccer knowledge. She will continue to assist with the development of all our players in year two! And Evan is a very talented, young coach, with a wealth of experience at the professional and youth level. We can’t wait to welcome him to the team and to see all of the ways in which he enhances our environment!”
Carter Yeisley will return to serve as assistant coach for the USL W League side. She and Head Coach Owusu Sekyere will be joined by Evan Munn who will serve as the Ivy’s Goalkeeping Coach for the season.
“I’m grateful to have such a supportive staff this season,” Head Coach Owusu Sekyere said. “I’m excited to work with them to ensure the Ivy have a successful season.”

Assistant Coach Carter Yeisley
Yeisley returns to the side after serving as assistant coach for the inaugural season, having helped lead the Ivy to a winning record in year one. She has coached for over 17 years and began coaching with the Richmond Kickers Youth Club in 2006. Since then, she has continued to work with the Kickers on both the youth and the professional side. Coaching through 2019 on the youth side, Yeisley also coached at Richmond United with Kickers Chairman and CEO Rob Ukrop and served as a player/coach for the Richmond United U23 team from 2014 to 2015 where she won the U23 ECNL National title.
“I had an absolute blast last year with the Ivy,” Yeisley said. “What an incredible way to spend the summer! I am so grateful for all the support, especially from my family, and I am excited to be back in 2025. I am looking forward to working with Owusu, Evan, and Madeline, and being back on the field with our incredible group of girls.”
About halfway through her tenure coaching for the youth club, Yeisley broadened her responsibilities in 2013, taking on the role of Director of RVAccess, the non-profit organization that offers children with special needs the opportunity to play soccer. Open to children ages 4-19, sessions are held at City Stadium and The Collegiate School in Richmond’s West End. Through the generous support of private donors, RVAccess is a cost-free program, offering a fun, challenging, and exciting way for athletes of all abilities to play the game they love.
“Carter brings a wealth of soccer knowledge and experience to the team,” Sekyere said. “Her ability to understand the human side of the game is also a huge asset. I’m thrilled to work with her this season.”
Before taking on her full-time role with RVAccess in 2013, Yeisley coached outside of the Richmond Kickers as well. Just after graduating from the University of Richmond, Yeisley returned to her alma mater to coach the Spiders’ men’s soccer team in 2011 under Clint Peay, current New England Revolution assistant coach. In the summer of 2012, she pivoted to work with the Spiders’ women’s side. When she joined then-Spiders Head Coach Peter Albright, he applauded the balance of youth and experience she brought to the team.
Goalkeeping Coach Evan Munn
Munn has served as the Goalkeeping Coach for the Richmond Kickers Pro side for the last year, he also coaches for Richmond United and will add the Ivy to his existing resume in the Richmond Soccer Community.
“I’m very grateful to be with the Richmond Kickers for a second year. Having an opportunity to help make Richmond soccer as good as it can be has been the goal, whether that’s on the pro level or in youth development with our pro pathway initiative. It is exciting to be adding the Richmond Ivy to this opportunity. My fiancée, Catherine, and I are excited to continue to support the Richmond community and its love for the game!”
Munn’s contribution to the staff of all three entities will allow for the continued modernization of the youth development pathway in the central Virginia area. He led the 2024 goalkeeping room for the Kickers that saw then-academy player James Sneddon tie the record for most clean sheets from your first USL League One start. Since last season, Sneddon has signed his first professional contract with the Kickers and will continue working with Munn.
Munn joined the Kickers last year after serving on the Oregon State men’s soccer team’s coaching staff headed by Greg Dalby who led the Beavers to the NCAA Final Four during the Fall 2023 season. Munn worked directly with OSU’s standout goalkeeper Luis Castillo who enjoyed a career year between the pipes. Castillo was an All-PAC-12 First Team honoree while posting six shutouts and only allowing three goals in five postseason games.“Having worked with Evan at the youth level, he understands what the game demands from a goalkeeper,” Sekyere said. “Not only that, but he also has valuable insights into the tactical aspects of the game. I’m excited to be working with him again.”
