
RICHMOND, Va. – Richmond Ivy SC claimed the inaugural Kick It Forward Cup with a 3-2 win over Lancaster Inferno on Saturday at City Stadium. The Ivy hosted 5,324 fans for their season opener, raising $2,662 for RVAccess and the Now I Can Foundation.
The Richmond Ivy opened their season with an energetic performance in the Kick It Forward Cup, creating dangerous chances throughout the match and striking first through Maci Landel in the opening half. After Lancaster found an equalizer early in the second half, the Ivy responded with goals from Olivia Woodson and Sunniyah Tucker to regain control midway through the second half. A late Lancaster goal added drama in stoppage time, but Richmond held on to secure a 3-2 victory in their season opener.
Lancaster was led by Rachel Eberly who scored the Inferno’s opening goal.
