
RICHMOND, Va. – Richmond Ivy SC claimed a nailbiting 1-1 (3-1) win over Racing Power FC in a penalty shootout on Wednesday, June 17 at City Stadium.
Racing Power FC made it difficult for the Ivy to gain traction in the first half, holding them to limited opportunities on net in the opening 45 minutes. An early goal from Racing Power put the Ivy behind, but Maci Landel found the equalizer in the opening minute of the second half.
Richmond settled into the game in the second frame, but Landel’s goal proved to be the only of the half, forcing the match into a penalty shootout to determine the winner after concluding full-time 1-1. Behind two saves from Logan Marks, Richmond claimed a dominant 3-1 penalty shootout win to take the victory.
Racing Power USA was led by Alexis Washington who tallied one goal.
