RICHMOND, Va. – Richmond Ivy SC Sporting Director Madeline McCracken has departed the club for another opportunity locally after serving with the team since its inception in 2024. A Virginia native, McCracken leaves the club having shown tremendous dedication to stewarding the inaugural three seasons of the Richmond Ivy.
McCracken, who embraced the role of sporting director alongside the team’s creation two years ago, has served as a foundational member of the team’s technical staff. As a leader in the organization, McCracken has overseen the team’s roster recruitment and development of elite amateur talent all while simultaneously growing the Ivy brand name in and around the Richmond area. In recognition of her efforts, McCracken was honored in March 2025 by the Richmond Times-Dispatch in partnership with the Richmond Raceway as one of the top-13 Women Who Drive Richmond.
“We are thankful for Madeline’s commitment to the Richmond Ivy over the last three years,” said CEO and Chairman Rob Ukrop. “Much of our Ivy success has come from her efforts to build a strong foundation with the RVA community and positive relationships with our Ivy players. We wish her best of luck as she transitions into full time ministry work.”
As a former player under Richmond Ivy head coach Rob Ukrop, McCracken and her oversight have allowed the Ivy to experience three consecutive winning seasons, including the team’s most recent 4-3-3 showing across ten regular season games. Notable wins this season included a 3-1 victory over Annapolis Blues FC on June 4 and a dominant 3-0 win against Charlottesville Blues FC on June 27 – both of which were played in front of the Richmond faithful at City Stadium.
During McCracken’s tenure the Ivy achieved numerous milestones including three Ivy alumni signing professional contracts, two within the NWSL, 14 total wins in USL W League play and welcoming over 80,000 fans across three seasons at City Stadium. Due in large part to her commitment to continually raising the bar, the club heads towards its fourth campaign with considerable momentum and a strong foothold in the hearts of Richmond supporters.
