Finding a sixth minute opportunity, the Ivy clear to Woodson up top who beats all the Virginia Beach defenders to take the goalie one-on-one. Her shot crosses the goal mouth and beats the goalie as well but falls just wide right of the net.
In the 14th minute, a missed clearance on the Ivy side results in a ball into the Ivy box from Virginia Beach. The United striker corralled it before sending the ball near post past Logan Marks.
Taylor rips a beautiful shot from about 20 yards out that goes just north of the crossbar in the 29th.
Olivia Woodson showed off her speed twice to get on the ball and take a shot well before anyone could find her but again both sailed just north of the goal.
Kameron Simmonds flew everywhere in the first half. The Florida State defender also plays forward for the Jamaican Senior Women’s National Team and used all of her skills in tonight’s match to help the Ivy. From creating to stopping the United attack, she was all over.
In the 64th minute, a backtracking Marks lost which line was the top of her box on the and gives Virginia Beach a free kick that the Ivy handled but in the following minutes, Virginia Beach would sneak another through.
The Ivy kept pushing though. In the 83rd minute, Maci Landel found Berry on the run who took a shot on frame but the United goalie got a hand to it in time.
